I have been working as Data Scientist, and one of the factors I win my client's confidence is to show them my desktop setup. My clients usually needs to see my workspace because they need to check whether I can deliver the results they need efficiently. I can not blame them because they have not seen me personally so I have to convince them that I have the hardware needed to carry on my daily tasks as a Data Scientist.
My desktop setup is not that very high tech. I need a lot monitors because I open a lot of applications at any given time. Here are the list of hardware I am currently using:
- Core M3 CPU 16Gb Ram 8.9" LCD Screen, 512Gb HDD, powered by USB C port
- 11.6" 1080p External Monitor serves as my main screen
- 7" Monitor for my FB and email viewing
- Samsung Tab S7 FE 12" Android - I use it as an additional external monitor using spacedesk app. It is used for viewing youtube/udemy training videos
Optional: I need an additional screen for entertainment purposes that's why an additional Samsung A7 Lite is always open for netflix.
If you have noticed, my monitors are all USB powered and my main pc is small and still usb C powered because my main power supply is solar, so I need everything to be power efficient.
